Brad Pitt Goes to the Olympics.

As I was learning more about the summer Olympic games in Beijing, and getting ready on the eve of the inaugural ceremonies, I came across a very interesting fact: Brad Pitt is going to the Olympics and competing in the men's Heavy (91 k) event in the sport of Boxing, if you do not believe it go check it out for yourself. That man does not seem to stop amazing me. haha.

Oh by the way, this Brad Pitt is from Australia and eighteen years younger than our Hollywood star friend.

friday evening live

This past friday was a great one. This Semester I decided to find a way to do more service and just be more selfless.
So at the beginning of the semester, Nicole Wier posted a note on facebook, asking people to help her fulfill some positions for an after school program she works for, so i contacted her and i joined her and i was assigned to teach the sports class at this program, i did not know what to expect but nonetheless i was exited.
I was given the friday group and this kids are great, all of them so different and so full of energy. Let me introduce you

Devin, this kid can run faster than me, but i took him out on dodge ball

Luis, he reminds me a little bit of myself, one day he showed up with his pumas colored in green, white and red not for Italy but for Mexico, and for those that know me, something that I would be very likely to do as well

Randy, this kid will make you laugh until you pee your pants, i have seen him do it

Tanica & Madie, Tanica has such a strong personality combine with huge heart, a natural leader, and Madie is so sweet and always so mindful of others that she could establish peace through out the world.

Jonathan, this kid is always putting things in order, he always follows the rules

So there you go, this are my kids, the ones that makes my friday afternoon's complete, who would've thought that serving others is actually self service and i mean it in the cleanest way possible. haha

If it takes control

I was listening to the new CD i bought by the Kings of Convenience and i love the first line from the song Gold from the price of silver "if it takes control of your body and soul embrace it". It has such a strong meaning to me so i decided to do something with this line and illustrate it, i mean not exactly what was on my mind but attempt to do it.
So i wanted to show that the moment it takes control (whatever takes control), it changes your life, so i started with two colors in the left and then multiple colors in the right, the turning point was going to be a girl that i chose to draw in pencil, not solid but rather fuzzy because that thing that takes control is sometimes just like that, fuzzy or hard to understand, the black is just the contrast of it. I strongly recommend the album "Versus" by The Kings of Convenience, this Norwegian duo reminds me a little of simon and garfunkel, and this particular album has collaborations with different artists and it is the mix of previously released songs with new effects added to them or just completely new sounds to it.

hasta la victoria siempre

i believe humans like our sense of ownership and identity, we like to believe that we are the most important of Gods creations, that to a point, its true. For example, nike id, puma's mongolian barbecue, and for the people that do not know what those are is a way to personalize everything that you wear, from your shoes to the headband you wear. So as part of my identity finding time i was thinking that if one piece of clothing could say a little bit about me what would it be?, if 50 years after i die they were to display a piece of clothing that was worn by Saul Santos what would it be and what would it represent. So as part of my awesome, relaxing, party less weekend i decided to make a piece of clothing that would say a little bit about me. Number one, it had to be a long sleeve because winter season, number two, it had to be a neutral color, because i am still trying to find myself, so i chose gray, and then i was only allowed to use the resources i could find in my room, just like a cd i made for a good friend, anyhow so i found some thread, and to my luck i had green, yellow and red, my rastafarian colors, i don't really know the deeper philosophies of my rastafarian brothers but i really identify myself with the energy they send, (could be the pot they smoke ha ha) and then i found my permanent markers so i decided to draw the symbol of standing for something, a red star, that is what a red star reminds ME of, standing for something just like the way che wore it, hasta la victoria siempre, so it is my way of to victory always!! so 50 years after my death when people see this piece of clothing displayed the label will say, worn by saul santos in his early 20, during a time of soul searching and a time where he was developing his ideals, the green, yellow and read colors combined with the red star represent To victory always in a peaceful brotherly way.
